Chris had been working and living on a holiday park for over 6 years when he lost his job, and his home earlier this year.

Without a place of his own, Chris had to rely on the goodwill of friends and family, moving between them to sleep on couches and in spare rooms. This lasted for around 7 months and meant that Chris saw less of his 9-year-old son.

Chris has spent the last few months rebuilding his life, with a new job and the offer of a place to live.

Unfortunately, as with many rented properties the flat came unfurnished, Chris had nothing to furnish the flat and was worried that he would not be able to move in. There was no way that his salary would stretch to furnishing the flat with the essentials and pay the rent and deposit.

Chris heard about the NCC Benevolent Fund through an industry contact and contacted us to see if we could with the most needed items – a cooker, fridge and beds for him and his son.
The Fund was able to provide the items needed which has enabled Chris and his son to move into and enjoy their new home.

"Just one huge thank you for all your support and making my life 10 times better and no longer feeling sick with worry. My son and I now have a place of our own and with the support and help from the Fund, can now move in and live in it. Thank you so much and for the speed. Words cannot express how thankful all my family are."
