NCC Benevolent Fund delivers first Mental Health workshops to employees

On Wednesday 4th March, the NCC Benevolent Fund in partnership with it's helpline provider Care first delivered it's first 'Mental Health in the Workplace' session, to over 50 of Erwin Hymer Centre's employees.
Care first are leaders in employee assistance programmes and have been working with the Fund since December 2019, to deliver it's free and confidential helpline.
Delivered by Care first's Service Manager, Jack Walsh, the 45 minute sessions are designed to provide an introduction on how to look after your own mental health at work and how you could support colleagues who may be having a difficult time. The session content provided information on recognising the signs of poor mental health in yourself and others to understanding options for referrals for further help.
The sessions highlighted the importance of opening up about mental health and feeling confident to have conversations in the workplace.
As well as providing practical advice and information, the sessions also reiterated the services provided by the Benevolent Fund and how to access these.
The NCC Benevolent Fund and Care first are able to offer a variety of mental and financial wellbeing workshops to organisations that are signed up to our helpline initiative. This initiative is free to use for both employer and employee, all that we ask is that you sign up so that access to the helpline and counselling resources can be provided.
